After the songs of praise, the band and the lead singers launched into a time of Peranakan and Malay Folk songs like "Baju panjang", "Bengawan Solo",
"Chan mali chan" and "Burong Kakatua" with GYMers taking to the floor to joget. ( View video clip of Joget )
Grace Lim did a fan dance and Albert Wong sang 2 songs to the delight of the audience.
Albert Ong presented a Nature Observation quiz called "Whodunnit" with prizes given to the 3 best answers.View video of "Whodunnit" >>>
Birthday greetings were extended to Charles Koh and Alfred Koh.

After snacks and refreshments, the GYMers enjoyed their break-out sessions of lively activities.

This afternoon's session of Songs of YesterYears had the theme "Hawaiian Party", and so most of the songs reflect the vibrancy of the theme.

The fellowship's guest speaker was Dr David Tay who spoke on how even a tax-collector could repent and receive salvation through God's love for him.

81: Durian Trip to Kangkar, Muar 11 Jun 2011

40 GYMers started on their Durian Trip cheerfully @ 8am, but got caught in a massive traffic jam @ the Causeway, and exercised patience when confronted by a humongous crowd at the Johor Immigration. It was not until 1.30pm that they were cleared for their journey north for a feast of durian.
After Kangkar, the journey south took them to Muar Otah, YoYo @ Yong Peng and Jusco @ Tebrau City where they shopped until they nearly dropped!

It was after 10pm that they managed to have a late dinner at a Chinese Restaurant in Ulu Tiram,Johor before continuing south, many of them arriving home well after midnight!

My first attendance at Evergreen which has a live band. Attendees were free to enjoy the music and dance.

The focus today was the message of "Spiritual Discernment" delivered by Solomon Jesudasan from our Lay Executive Staff.

Birthday greetings went to Amy Wee and Grace Tan whose birthdays fall some time this week.

After the break when local snacks were served, the GYMers proceeded to enjoy leisure activities like karaoke, line dancing, chit-chats, Rummy-O, Dum and Chess.
In addition, GYMers who went on a recent mission trip to Malang, Indonesia had a short meeting to settle feedback on a proposal and refund unspent money.
